Miniature Basket Hilted Sword French ?

A very long 'miniature' sword some 15 inches in length with an open basket hand shield-bearing a crowned imperial eagle to the obverse. Black grip bound with gold twisted wire. Curved, needle point blade also having imperial eagle decoration to both obverse and reverse. Missing the appropriate scabbard.
