A BEAUTIFUL HUNTING CUTLASS BY CLEM & JUNG WITH ORIGINAL 'V' FROG.

Hunting and Forestry cutlasses have always been a firm favourite of mine. They are a part of German history and have been worn by members for 100's of years. This is a prime example of a Hunting cutlass produced in the Third Reich era by Clem & Jung. Super early fittings with nice patina. A nice curved stag horn grip with the Deutche Jagerschaft hunting badge affixed go the middle of the grip. Up & down crossguard in the shape of deer hooves with a fluted clamshell underneath. Green leather covered scabbard in mint condition with nickel upper and lower fittings attached by staples. There is an original green leather hunting frog attached to the upper fitting. These frogs are very rare in themselves as they have often slid off the scabbard and been lost. A stone MINT long blade with beautiful etched hunting scenes on each side. Clem & Jung etched their subjects to run across the blade horizontally, rather than most other makers who ran the etched scenes ALONG the blade length. 100% deep perfect detail on the plated blade. There is a green felt blade washer. A REALLY nice example.
