A VERY RARE TEARDROP HANGER FOR THE LUFTWAFFE SWORD.

Definitely one of the hardest sword accessories to find, especially as ALL Luftwaffe swords needed one of these to be worn! They are just not about. This accessory clipped onto the rest of the integral leather crescent hanger that was permanently attached to the rings on the sword scabbard. It could then be attached to the dress belt or under belt worn by Luftwafffe officers on parade. Made of Luftwaffe blue leather with brown smooth leather backing. An aluminium snap clip go the front. The rear of this hanger is beautifully marked with a maker and 1937 date. It's also over stamped with the Luftwaffe issuing authority L.B.A. This stands for Luftwaffenbekleidungsamt' or 'Luftwaffe clothing office/depot'.
