US Early WWII Wooden Ammunition Box

Original era manufacture. Oak box with a light OD canvas carrying strap on the top. Original OD paint throughout, with original black paint stenciling on the exterior and interior. The lid lock mechanism works fine, near 100% original finish remains intact. In 1975 I attended my first Houston Astrodome gunshow in Texas, what an experience, literally acres of wonderful things to be had. I remember seeing pallets of these being offered at $2.50 each. Funny, now you hardly ever see these offered, and when they do show up, they are often in very poor condition. This is a real nice example.
