EICKHORN SHORT DRESS BAYONET WITH PANZER POMMEL DESIGN.

As well as offering remembrance etched blade designs, Eickhorn also offered, in their catalogue, 4 designs that were engraved onto the dress bayonet pommel. The 4 designs are clearly shown in the original Eickhorn catalogue and were for the army, Luftwaffe, artillery and tank units. This is a short dress bayonet with the tank motif on the pommel. Very beautifully executed, it shows a small tank with soldier in the turret and below that is the scull motif of the Panzer units surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath. The short bayonet is in excellent condition. The hilt and crossguard are heavily nickel plated. The chequered grips are perfect. The short scabbard has 90% of the original black factory paint. There is evidence that there was a frog worn with this as there are some rib marks on the paint surface. The short carbine type blade is in mint condition and the reverse riccasso is stamped with the 1935-42 Eickhorn squirrel.
