HS9 Royal Navy Lemania Chronograph, c.1947

An excellent example of an early Royal Navy Lemania chronograph wristwatch, issued to the Fleet Air Arm. Fully marked with the pre-NATO Hydrographic Survey codes, and never renumbered, identifying it as a pilot's watch.This watch is in perfect working order, with all the chronograph functions operating crisply. The high-grade signed movement looks bright and fresh and free from any inappropriate tool marks. Equally lovely is the white dial, which is stamped with the pre tritium era, 'P' for promethium mark. All hands, crown and chrono-pusher are the factory originals, making this a stand-out example. The steel case is sharp and the watch will come fitted to a genuine NATO strap, including the leather band that it is currently fitted to.A great example for the investor, collector and everyday user of top-end watches.
