Trick Ball-Lock Knife By T. Ellin & Co., c.1935

Sold
£22.00

Description

A rare trick knife By the Sheffield knife maker, Thomas Ellin & Co., c.1935. This penknife is suitable for EDC under UK law as it has an immediately folding blade - Only the locking mechanism is one that prevents the knife from opening in the first instance unless the 'trick' is known by the user. The ball-lock is in working order but the blade is a little proud of the nickel scales when closed. To open the knife, hold the point of the closed blade upwards and depress the spine. This releases the blade sufficiently to be then fully extracted, held open by a slip joint. To close the knife, fold the blade closed traditionally and point it towards the ground before releasing the spine. The blade now remains closed. In used but working condition. Overall length open = 12.5 cm Blade length = 5.3 cm Length closed = 7.2 cm
