Pewter Toy Cannon, c.1830

An interesting antique miniature cannon made of pewter, probably as a boy's toy. This cast cannon is slightly distorted with a misshaped muzzle, yet the bore is clear through to the vent. Apparently, this novelty item was found in the silt of the Thames' mudbanks at Greenwich. Overall length = 1¾ inches
