BRITISH The Wiltshire Regiment Officer's Gilt & Silver Cross-belt / Pouch Badge. I have not seen one of these before. It looks late Victorian period. The gilt Maltese Cross (with battle honours) has a silver device pinned in the centre. Although it has been period brooched, it originally had two lugs which have been removed. I believe this was an Officer's Cross Belt Plate, that has ben slightly modified by substituting a brooch for the two lugs. A very attractive and scarce item. It measures 57.25mm H x 57.25mm W.
