BRITISH BLACK WATCH Mid-Victorian Sweetheart Locket (Gold/Enamel / with Photo) This is real beauty. It is non-opening locket style construction with a very small gold engraved badge suspended below. The gold oval frame has blue enamel in the front face. There is white enamel scroll with 'DELHI”. Above this are gold bullion wire designs, and below gold entwined letters “TC' and some more bullion work. The back has a photo of a soldier inserted (wearing St. Andrew collar badges. Both sides of this item have glass (with no issues). Hanging below is a small unmarked gold St Andrew badge, engraved on the front and plain on the back. The main locket part measures 37mm H x 24mm wide. The smaller badge is 16mm H x 9mm W. I think this would date circa 1870s??
