1943 US Flare Parachute

A small size 1943 dated silk/rayon flare parachute manufactured by the North American company ''National Automotive Fibres, Inc.'' that were based in Detroit, Michigan. The 24 inch diameter canopy is quite grubby in appearance especially on the crown but remains in good firm condition, all the panels are intact but there are a few very small pulls/holes present but nothing really noticeable, best to mention. These small size parachutes may have been used for various tasks but more commonly associated with flares, the manufacturers ink stamp is present but parts are now indiscernible.
