Polizei Canvas Gaiters 1943

German 'Polizei' Canvas Gaiters (Gamaschen). As a result of concerns about leather shortages regulations in early 1940 prescribed the lace-up ankle boots for wear in the field and additional regulations in August 1940, introduced new canvas gaiters to be worn with the lace-up ankle boots. Made of a police-green canvas construction with blackened leather straps and black leather re-inforcement. The gaiters are nicely maker marked by a company from Wuppertal-Barmen and dated 1943. Nice matching pair of ww2 German Police gaitors in stunning mint and unissued condition, still tied together.
