German WWII M1940 Camouflage Steel Helmet Shell, SE64,

Sold
$795.00

Description

Original period manufacture. German WWII steel helmet, maker and size marked SE64, with what appears to be a lot number of 401. Smooth feldgrau paint remains on the interior of he helmet skirt, with a liner band with felt, and all three original rivets with slot washers intact. The exterior of the helmet displays a tan, rough texture camouflage finish, with a few splotches of white garage paint scattered here and there. What sets this helmet apart, it the large black and white hand painted swastika on the top of the helmet. Likely done by the GI who brought the helmet home with him in 1945. The swastika displays honest age and wear, matching quite well the overall condition of the helmet.
