Very scarce WW II embroidered example of the red on black oval shaped area designation, ' Girls Training Corps / 764 / Northamptonshire ' Accompanied by the rare red on black embroidered ' Lyre ' badge worn by musicians of the G.T.C. Raised during the war originally by members of the M.T.C. to train young girls to assist with the war effort and to prepare them for military service.
