Description
Original era manufacture. A very clean example of the US Foot Artillery Sword, copied from the French, and originally inspired by the Roman Gladius.Polished steel, double edged blade measuring 19 inches in length, N.P. Ames logo on one side of the ricasso, and United States 1833 on the other. The blade surface is very clean, with a few nail catchers in the cutting edge. Heavy cast brass guard and grip with a fish-scale design, ending with an eagle design on the pommel. No scabbard.
