German WWII, Luftwaffe, M1942 Steel Helmet, Complete, NS64

Original era manufacture. A very sound, solid example, of the classic WWII Luftwaffe M1942 steel helmet, maker and size marked NS64, lot number 1670.Most of the original matt Luftwaffe gray/blue paint finish remains, with its original decal as shown. This decal, when applied had a small fold in the tail of the eagle.  Complete, and original pliable brown leather liner with original drawstring, size marked 57, no breaks, tears or missing sections, just some scuffing and staining on the edge, with the surface having been dressed with saddle soap in the past.All three, original to the helmet, rivets are in place, along with their slot washers. Pliable and complete, 1940 dated leather chinstrap with a steel adjusting buckle in good condition.All in all, the helmet is as honest example that can be found today, it displays honest wear and use, and did not sit on a shelf during WWII
