Description
Post WWII Manufacture. Fine quality enameled badge of the Polish 4th Artillery Regiment. Screwpost reverse with a brass attaching disc. Measures 33x40 mm. Prior to 1939, the Polish military was famous for the awarding of these handsome badges, nearly all featuring beautiful workmanship and quality enameling. These badges had to be earned, so not every serving soldier was able to attain one, making original examples quite scarce today. Beginning sometime in the 1970's or 1980's, these beautiful remakes began to appear, many bearing the Panasuik name on the securing disc. They represent the regiments of a brave Army that battled ferocious attacks from Communist Russia and Nazi Germany in September 1939.
