Die-stamped, silvered, brass and enamel pinback badge for the City of London Civic Guard. Created in 1942 as part of the Square Mile of the City of London Invasion Defence organisation, its role was ill defined. Its duties however, were to assist the military and CD services in whatever was required in the advent of an invasion. Lapel fitting to the reverse, manufacturer marked ' J.R.Gaunt, London '. In good, clean condition.
