Scarce, plastic King's Commendation for Brave Conduct badge . Instituted in 1942, the King's Commendation was instituted in respect of acts of civilian bravery during the Second World War and the badge was awarded in pairs for wear on suit, jacket or dress lapels, it was broadly equivalent to a Mention in Despatches in military circles. The three piece construction badge is slightly distorted as with many of the plastic badges of the era but otherwise in good, used condition. Registered design number to reverse. On the original card of issue when issued as a pair.
