Swiss, 19th Century Shako, 3rd Artillery

Original era manufacture. A French inspired shako of the mid to late 1850's, featuring a black wool covered cardboard body with a leather top, liner, visor and pull-down chinstrap. Brass crossed cannon and regimental number on the front, below a white-red metal  cockade and a green and red wool pompom. Sound condition for its age, no moth damage.
