An example of a famous wartime poster issued by the Ministry of Health for the Coughs & Sneezes Spread Diseases campaign . The campaign was designed to show how thoughtlessness helps to spread not only the common cold, but also many other diseases. The whole 'coughs and sneezes' campaign was far more to with fighting absenteeism than concern about people catching a cold. Drawn by the artist Henry Mayo Bateman ( 1887-1970 ) and printed for HMSO by Chromoworks, London measuring 76cm x 50cms. Excellent, clean and fresh condition, has been folded with one minor tear 20mm along fold at bottom. Scarce in this condition.
