US Civil War M1864 Cartridge Box and Leather Sling

Original era manufacture. A well used, but complete M1864 Federal cartridge box with its original sling. The leather while stiffened, remains pliable for its age, all buckles and straps are present, as are the two internal ammunition tins. The leather sling measures 21 inches from the point of the shoulder to the top of the pouch. It is also pliable, and shows a repair in the form of a tear, which has been backed by another piece of leather. A similar repair has been done on the flap closure strap.
