French Pre WWI, Private Purchase Enlisted Kepi, 96th Regiment

Original era manufacture. Classic 1914 era enlisted Kepi, with a madder red top, and dark blue wool band. Black polished cotton lining, with a black leather sweatband. The hat is quite tall, measuring about 5 inches in height. Bound edge, black leather visor with a green underside. Black painted leather adjustable chinstrap secured by two bursting bomb brass buttons. Mothing to the front and top edge of the hat as shown. Sound enough hat for its age, and one of the few original examples we have ever offered.
