Brass shoulder title circa 1903-22. The 124th Baluchistan Regiment was a regiment of the British Indian Army, primarily composed of soldiers from Baluchistan (modern-day Balochistan in Pakistan. The regiment primarily recruited soldiers from the Baloch ethnic group, as well as Pathans and other communities from the region. These groups were known for their martial traditions and loyalty. During the First World War, the regiment was deployed in multiple theaters, including Mesopotamia and East Africa. It contributed significantly to the British war effort. In 1922, as part of the major reorganization of the British Indian Army, the regiment was merged into the 10th Baluch Regiment, which combined several Baluch regiments 124th Baluchistan Regiment were regarded as fierce fighters, especially in rugged and challenging environments.
