Description
Original era manufacture. All black leather construction, with two rows of 10 canvas loops for 45-70 cartridges. An early pattern pouch without the brass escutcheon plate on the securing strap.Very clear NGP in an oval on the front side of the pouch. Crazed leather surface with a nice luster. J. H. Wilson mfg. Of interest is this is a commercially made, rather than a US Arsenal. Possibly James H. Wilson of Philadelphia, 1106 Chestnut Street 1874-1885, listed as a dealer of military goods, also of regalia. Normal age and wear.
