Russian Political Commissar Sleeve Badge

Nice original Russian Politruk (Political Commissar) Sleeve Badge. Since September 1935, the corps of Political Officers had worn an embroidered red star, with a hammer and sickle in the centre, on the lower sleeve. Worn on both the Gymnastierka and the greatcoat, these stars were abolished in August 1941. Nicely hand-embroiderd sleeve badge, showing the recognizable hammer & sickle in a 5-pointed red star. The badge is sized approximately 5x5 cms. The badge is in good used and clearly tunic removed condition. Rare to find an original used and issued example.
