French Model 1831 Short Sword, Navy Marked Guard, 1839 Blade

Original era manufacture. Brass handled, Gladius type short sword with an anchor proof on the guard. Very clean blade showing scattered age mottling to the surface, no corrosion issues. Sound black leather bodied scabbard with a brass throat and chape. The throat is not marked with a navy anchor, with a 5 mm gap between the bottom of the guard and scabbard throat.
