WH (Heer) Medical Officer's 'Crusher' Visor Cap

WH (Heer) Medical (Arzt) Officer's Crusher style Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice privately purchased Officer's cap with leather visor being a so called 'Crusher' cap (Alter-Art). The celluloid manufacturers sweat-diamond ('Raute') is present and nicely maker marked by tailor 'Erwin Freudemann' from Berlin-Kleinmachnow. The cap has no visible size markings, the size is approximately 57cms. The visor cap is piped in the blue 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Medical personnel. The grey leather sweatband is in heavily used and damaged condition, see photos. The cap is complete with its original hand-embroidered cocarde and an in my opinion reapplied hand-embroidered cap-eagle. The cap shows heavy traces of usage and small (moth)damages, the leather visor has been partly repaired with white glue, see close-up photos. The cap has a great shape and combat worn look. Nice original crusher for a fair price!
