Etched Heer/Luftwaffe K98 Dress Bayonet

Etched WH (Heer)/Luftwaffe K98 Dress Bayonet with Frog (Extraseitengewehr mit Seitengewehrtasche). This is a private purchase version of the S84/98 bayonet for dress wear. The bayonet was, accompanied by a bayonet frog, to be worn on the reverse left side of the load carrying waist belt. The bayonet is nicely maker marked by the company 'Eickhorn' from Solingen. The bayonet is nicely etched with 'Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit', the etch is showing both a Luftwaffe style and an Army style eagle. The blade is in very good condition. The bayonet and scabberd are showing normal traces of usage and slight surface rust, see photos. The bayonet comes with its original leather frog, the stitching came partly loose. Rare original etched bayonet in good used condition!
