Allgemeine-SS EM/NCO's Visor Cap

Allgemeine-SS EM/NCO's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze für Mannschaften und Unterführer). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. SS Officers and certain senior NCO ranks were responsible for purchasing their own uniforms and headgear. This is a nice quality issue black coloured wool/tricot blend construction EM/NCO's visor cap, the cap features a wide, black centerband and white wool 'Waffenfarbe' piping to the top of the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the black centerband. There is a ink stamp 'RZM SS' on the underside of the visor. The interior of the cap is having a top panel finished in orange brown oil cloth, while the sides are a similar hued cloth. The diamond shaped celluloid sweat-shield is in good condition, the SS runes in a circle are present, it is size '56' marked. The brown coloured leather sweatband is in supple condition with some small damages, there is a RZM tag which indicates the maker code '195'. The cap comes without insignia and chin-strap as found. The stitching of the visor looks partly loose/repaired, see photos. Overall a nice cap which would look great when completed with the correct insignia. Scarce and hard to find original Allgemeine-SS Visor Cap in good used condition!
