WH (Heer) M17 Combat Helmet

WH (Heer) M17 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M17), reissued in the Wehrmacht. The Austrian M16/M17 helmet was almost identical to the German version with the positioning of the chinstrap liner rivets being the most readily identifiable difference. The steel construction M17 helmet retains most of its original field-grey/green paint. The paint shows normal wear and the shell is marked on top (typical for Austrian helmets) with a letter 'B' and a serial number. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an early M31 leather liner with eight fingers, the liner is showing some damage. The liner is a size '57'. The early liner is having an reinforced aluminum liner ring. Inside the helmet is marked with twice with the size '64', once stamped on the right side and once in ink inside the dome. The helmet is in overall good used condition, nice original Wehrmacht reissued M17 helmet!
