Description

SA (Sturmabteilung) Brown Shirt (Diensthemd) for a member within the SA Sturm 11/89 from Schwerin in the SA-Gruppe Hansa. The brownshirt is complete with all insignia including a pair of collar tabs marked with '11/89' indicating the Sturm and the matching shoulder-board and piping around the colour for SA-Group Hansa'. An original Swastika armband is attached to the left sleeve. Both sleeve ends show silver braid indicating an old fighter (Alte Kämpfer) with entry within the SA in 1927. An extremely rare 'Wilhelm Gustloff' cufftitle is nicely sewn to the wearer's left lower sleeve. Wilhelm Gustloff was a National Socialist and leader (Landesgruppenleiter) of the NSDAP-Auslandsorganisation in Switzerland. On 4 February 1936, he was shot with four bullets from a revolver by his former fellow student David Frankfurter, son of a rabbi, and died of his wounds. Shortly afterwards, he was proclaimed a 'national martyr' by the Nazis. This cufftitle was granted to the SA Sturm 89 in Schwerin from Gruppe Hansa by Adolf Hitler on 26 August 1938. The cufftitle looks to be in full lenght. An RZM label has been removed from the brown shirt. The brown shirt is in overall very good condition, see photos. Extremely rare and attractive original SA brown shirt in good condition!
