WH (Heer) M40 SD Combat Helmet

Wehrmacht (Heer) M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The stamped sheet steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its rough textured, field-grey paint. The paint shows normal wear and scratches caused by usage, see photos. A standard Heeres decal is applied to the left side of the helmet, the decal is retained for about 90%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact. The liner is complete with its original liner cord. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET62' which indicates production by the company 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '973'. There is a nice (double) dome-stamp visible inside the shell. The helmet is complete with its original chinstrap. Nice and honest original M40 combat helmet in good condition!
