Description

1 October 1938 Medal (Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1 Oktober 1938). The Commemorative Medal of 1st October 1938 was the second of the 'Anschluss' (Annexation), medal series and was introduced on October 18th 1938, for award to civilians and military personnel who participated in the 'return' of the Sudetenland to Germany. The award followed the same design as the earlier, '13th März' medal, that commemorated the annexation of Austria into Greater Germany. Nice example which has been period mounted on a so-called 'Einzelspange'. It comes with its functional pin/catch attachment for mounting it on a tunic. The medal is having an original 'Prager Burg' clasp attached. Only 134.563 examples of the 'Prager Burg' clasp have been awarded. The clasp is nicely marked with the initials 'MC'. Nice example in very good condition!
