Dutch Police Overseas Cap

Dutch Police Overseas Cap (Veldmuts der Staatspolitie). This is a privately purchased overseas cap made of high quality black coloured wool. This is an overseas cap without piping as inteded for NCO's within the Dutch State Police (Staatspolitie), also known as the 'Schalkhaar' Police. This was a Police unit during the war, named after the place Schalkhaar near Deventer. In Schalkhaar was the training facility of the unit. This unit was controlled by the Dutch NSB (Nationaal Socialistische Beweging) movement. The cap is complete with its original leather sweatband. The brass lion badge might have been added just after the war for reissue in the early post-war police forces in the late 40s. Rare original police overseas cap in good condition!
