'Kriegsverdienstmedaille' for Women

This is a nice example of the War Merit Medal (Kriegsverdienstmedaille). The War Merit Medal was instituted on 19 August 1940 for award to German nationals and foreign civilians who provided exceptional service to the war effort. The medal is complete with its original ribbon which has been confectioned in a fashion typical for wear by women. Nice original medal in very good condition!
