Combat Engineers Assault Backpack

This is a nice and scarce original German combat engineers assault backpack (Pioniersturmgepäck). The Assault Pack was introduced on 27 March 1941 and consisted of a central back pack and two attached side packs designed specifically for the unique engineering assault equipment and essential items. This is the backpack designed to hold two, 3 kilogram, explosive charges, a mess kit and additional personal or essential items. The backpack is made of an olive drab canvas and recycled webbing material. The backpack is nicely maker marked by the 'Wirtschaftsamt' from Litzmannstadt. The backpack is showing normal traces of usage but is in overall good condition, see photos. Nice and scarce original combat engineers assault backpack!
