Return of the Memel Commemorative Medal

Return of the Memel Commemorative Medal (Medaille zur Erinnerung an die Heimkehr des Memellandes, 22. März 1939). To commemorate the occupation of the Memelland area the Memel Medal was authorized on 1 May 1939, it was awarded until 31 December 1940, 31.322 medals were awarded. This is a nice example having great detail, this is a so-called Slanted 'G', Type 1 as made by the 'Hauptmünzamt' in Berlin. The medal is complete with its original hard to find 18cms long sized, slightly faded, ribbon. Hard to find example in good used condition!
