Luftwaffe Major's Leather Greatcoat

Luftwaffe Flight/FJ Major's Leather Greatcoat (Ledermantel). The Greatcoat belonged to the standard equipment of every soldier. The greatcoat could be worn in cold weather or rain and all other conceivable situations. Officers were entitled to wear a leather version of the standard greatcoat as an optional item. This is a privately purchased Luftwaffe grey leather construction greatcoat, it has two rows of six front closure buttons of the early dish-type. There is no metal hook and eye at the neckline, this is typical for Luftwaffe greatcoats, due to the fact that they were allowed to wear their collars open. The heavy quality greatcoat is fully lined with rayon lining material. The greatcoat is having the build in O-ring to attach the Luftwaffe Dagger Hangers through the pocket. The Greatcoat is not visible maker marked or dated. The greatcoat shows normal traces of usage, the leather is still in very good and supple condition. The greatcoat is complete with a pair of removable shoulder-boards as intended for a 'Major der Fliegertruppe/Fallschirmjäger'. Nice original Luftwaffe leather greatcoat in very good condition, this will make a stunning officer's display!
