French WWI Trench Art Letter Opener, Bordeaux

Original period manufacture. All brass construction with a nicely decorated scimitar shaped blade with a copper crown soldered to the Lebel bullet casing handle. Brass patina finish, measuring just under 8 inches in length. Engraved decoration on the blade with the name of the French city of Bordeaux, and crossed French & American flags.
