French WWI M1886/16 Lebel Bayonet,

Original era manufacture. Cruciform blade bayonet which has been shortened to a 11.75 inch length with a matching length tubular steel scabbard. Steel, removable grips, serial numbered on the flat edge of the rudimentary guard, lock mechanisim works properly. The bayonet itself is very clean, with a nice blue finish to the blade, the scabbard naturally enough has taken most of the wear, with surface corrosion and pitting.
