East German Volksmarine Admiral Dagger, Cased

Assembled from parts left over after the unification of East and West Germany in the early 1990's. We have been advised by a knowledgeable source that the easiest way to tell is the blurred detail of the DDR emblem on the pommel cap. Evidently the dies were showing wear, so the pebbling is not as distinct. Serial numbered blade 06102, with gilded brass fittings and a blue steel scabbard body. Comes in a fitted case with a pair of blue wool backed hangers, a Volksmarine cap tally and two pieces of insignia. Included with the dagger at the time of our purchase, was a note card stating the collector received the dagger in December 1992... his purchase price then, $248.00.
