Swiss, M1889 Schmidt-Rubin Rifle Bayonet, Waffenfabrik Neuhausen

Original period manufacture. A fine quality bayonet of a pattern which the United States adopted for our Krag rifle. Very clean polished steel blade with a few scattered spots of old cosmoline residue. Polished steel guard and pommel, showing scattered spotting from old surface corrosion. Original finish grips with no cracking or chipping, just minor denting from service use. Blue steel finished scabbard with very minor denting and minimal surface corrosion staining.
