French, 1873 Revolver Holster

Original era manufacture. Brown leather, clam shell holster, with a belt loop and two strap suspension loops on the reverse. On the body is a flapped pouch for 12 rounds of extra ammunition. The surface of the holster shows typical scuffing from service use, but no dry-rot. The flap edge binding is for the most part sound, with a small areas of loose threads. On the flap cover hinge there is a three inch area where the threads have given way. The holes are not pulled through, the cloth threads have just given way. The holster is not crushed or overly oiled.
