British WWI Era, Messkit & Leather Case

Original era manufacture. OK, my guess is British on this one, perhaps a private purchase example for an officer. No visible markings anywhere, but very 19th century in style. Three by five inch tinned steel cannister, oval, with folding handles on one side. On the top is a folding loop for two fingers, when pulled it reveals a smaller cup, again with folding handles on the side. Brown leather pouch, or wallet, with steel roller buckles to secure the straps. Wear to the stitching, but overall quite sound for its age.
