Polish 17th Ulan Regimental Badge, Collectory Copy

Sold
$25.00

Description

Post WWII Manufacture. Fine quality badge of the 17th Ulan Regiment. Multi-piece construction with an enameled obverse. Measures 40 x 40 mm. Prior to 1939, the Polish military was famous for the awarding of these handsome badges, nearly all featuring beautiful workmanship and quality enameling. These badges had to be earned, so not every serving soldier was able to attain one, making original examples quite scarce today. Beginning sometime in the 1970's or 1980's, these beautiful remakes began to appear, many bearing the Panasuik name on the securing disc. They represent the regiments of a brave Army that battled ferocious attacks from Communist Russia and Nazi Germany in September 1939.
