Original period manufacture. A stamped aluminum disc, William L. Brumbaugh, CPL PVT COOK CO.D. 3.S.T. USA, 749060. Ancestry shows him with this service number,  Troop M, 12th Cavalry until February 1917, Company D, 3rd Supply Train to August 1919. The 3rd Supply Train formed part of the 3rd Infantry Division (Rock of the Marne). Upon discharge in 1919, he immediately reenlisted.
