French 2nd Empire Officers Sword Belt & Lionhead Buckles

Original era manufacture. Moroccan leather backed, silk brocade covered dress sword belt, with an attached frog in a matching design.The belt is secured with two gilded brass discs bearing the likeness of Medusa, these are linked together with a simple s-shaped snake clasp.The fabric and leather show age and wear, yet remain pliable and quite sound for display.
