US Civil War, West Virginia Veterans Medal, 6th WV Cavalry

Original era manufacture. Although missing the suspension, this is a clean example of a Tiffany designed medal issued in 1866, and awarded to West Virginia soldiers who served during the Civil War.It is named to David A. Games, Company I,  Reg. Cav. Vols on the edge of the planchet.In addition to serving during the Civil War, it also saw service in the American West in 1865-66, Fort Leavenworth, Fort Kearney and Julesberg and Cottonwood Springs Colorado.
