Description
Original era manufacture. Designed by Colonel V.P. Hagner as part of a brace system for mounted enlisted men in 1872. While never formally adopted, it was tested in Field trials and a number of arsenal manufactured belts were produced. The buckle itself was adopted and used for many years as a dress belt by army enlisted soldiers. The leather is pliable, no dry rot and quite sound for display.
